I will be heading back to Northern Ireland next month to photograph a wedding so I figured it was about time I start blogging all of the incredible shoots that I shot there last year. Last January, I asked a couple of girls in the photo industry that I loved and looked up to if they would be interested in traveling and shooting together in another country. The group chat blew up and we planned the most epic 6 days from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher, all the way up to northern Ireland + Belfast. It was jam packed with so many incredible styled shoots, but we also managed to photograph a 10 year vow renewal + an epic elopement on the Cliffs of Moher (stay tuned for that one).
For this vow renewal, we found this beautiful abbey on a hillside in central Ireland that was built in the 1100’s. To say we were all in awe of its beauty would be a massive understatement— I am pretty sure as we pulled up I got out of the car and just stared at it for a few minutes. We also arrived about 2 hours before sunset and it was clear skies that day, so that definitely added a layer of its own. Ireland is filled with so much history and ancient architecture so with this abbey being nearly 1,000 years old, we were extremely careful and respectful while shooting. Places like this are an absolute treasure and we need to protect and preserve them while also interacting and appreciating them.
Alan and Michelle, thank you so much for flying all the way out to Ireland and for trusting us to capture these memories for you… and, you know, getting married ten years ago. It was such an incredible day celebrating your love and your story <3
